Ruth Wasserman Lande was born in Israel and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. She joined Israel’s parliament, the Knesset, on Jan. 8, 2021, and was forced out four days later when a government minister from her Blue and White party resigned and returned to the Knesset under the Norwegian law. Three weeks later she returned to Knesset when a party lawmaker left to join another party.
She currently serves as a member of eight Knesset committees: House; Finance; Economic Affairs; Constitution, Law and Justice; State Control; Labor, Welfare and Health; the Special Committee on the Novel Coronavirus and for Examining the State’s Preparations for Epidemics and Earthquakes; and the Special Committee on Eradicating Crime in Arab Society. In addition, she is an alternate member of the prestigious Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.

JERUSALEM, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) Israel and Morocco have reached an economic-trade cooperation agreement, the Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry said on Sunday.
This follows the normalization agreement signed between the two countries on Dec. 22, 2020, and talks conducted by the Israeli Economy Minister Amir Peretz and Moroccan Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment and Digital Economy Moulay Hafid Elalamy.
The agreement, which is expected to be signed in two weeks, establishes a framework for cooperation in the fields of economics, trade and innovation, with both sides aiming to increase bilateral trade and remove trade barriers.

World Bank Group and CES Announce Global Tech Challenge Winners
Today the World Bank Group and CES announced the winners of the Global Tech Challenge at CES®2021.
The result of a partnership between the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) and the World Bank Group, the Global Tech Challenge was launched at CES 2020 to reward scalable and innovative technological solutions in three main areas: digital health in East Africa, resilience in India and gender equality around the world. Technology solutions that helped communities respond to the COVID-19 pandemic were also prioritized.
Selected among over 1,000 applications, three winners were selected for gender equality, 10 for resilience and 17 for digital health. More details about the selected innovations can be accessed here for health, resilience and gender equality.
