LAHORE: As many as 2.5 million doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine donated by the United States arrived at the Islamabad International Airport on Friday. These vaccines are being delivered to the Pakistani people in collaboration with the COVAX global vaccine initiative, UNICEF, and the Government of Pakistan.
Commenting on the development, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the US delivery of 2.5 million doses of Moderna vaccine to Pakistan “highlights our enduring friendship and cooperation on COVID-19. We are committed to bringing this pandemic to an end around the world.”

A consignment of 2.5 million doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, donated by the United States, arrived at Islamabad International Airport on Friday.
According to a press release issued by the US Embassy, these vaccines are being delivered to the Pakistani people in partnership with the COVAX global vaccine initiative, UNICEF, and the Government of Pakistan.
In a statement, US Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Angela P. Aggeler said these vaccines will save lives and help Pakistan emerge from this crisis, which has devastated so many families and communities in both our countries.
