Pakistan sees virus cases trend upward By News Desk ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Friday recorded a spike in daily coronavirus infections 1,277 new cases after nearly two weeks of cases hovering near the 1,000 cases mark, data from the National Command and Operating Centre (NCOC) showed. It comes a week after Asad Umar, who heads the NCOC, warned that artificial intelligence-based modelling suggested the country was headed towards a fourth wave of Covid if safety precautions were not adhered to. Daily cases have been steadily increasing since Tuesday. Friday’s cases were 244 more than Thursday’s (1,037), which were 58 more than Wednesday’s (979), which itself were 244 more than Tuesday’s (735).
