Pakistan s economy in growth mode: SBP s Baqir

July 2, 2021 ISLAMABAD: State Bank of Pakistan Governor Dr Reza Baqir said that Pakistan was achieving positive signs of economic recovery, and hoped that the country would not go back into the International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme for any bailout package. “Pakistan economy has turned around, and we are in growth mode,” this was stated by SBP Governor Dr Reza Baqir, in an exclusive talk at the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI) on Thursday. He also said that the decision to convert the exchange rate from fixed to market-based mechanism had resulted in dividends for the economy, as rupee strengthened and buoyed investors’ confidence.

The objective was to explore cooperation and commonality of issues between South Asian counties and a mini-lateral group comprised of Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea, Turkey and Australia, called MIKTA. - ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI) has launched its digital forensic arm “G5 Internet Observatory (G5iO)”. The launch was done at the sidelines of the webinar “Mapping Disinformation in the Digital Age” on May 19. As a digital arm of IPRI, the G5 Internet Observatory will map the digital space, track disinformation including hateful content, and collaborate with global think tanks & social media companies to make social media a safer and more productive platform for engagement. The webinar was an attempt to explore trends of disinformation and discuss the policy-making designed to combat it.
