ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi on Friday designated all sessions courts throughout the country as special courts to proceed against accused facing rape charges.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice, “in pursuance of the powers conferred by sub-section 3 of section 3 of the Anti-Rape (Investigation & Trial) Ordinance, 2020, the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in consultation with the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan has been pleased to designate all courts of sessions judges throughout Pakistan as Special Courts under the Ordinance”.

JEDDAH Saudi Arabia and Pakistan signed on Friday two agreements and two memoranda of understanding to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields.
The documents were signed during the visit of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan who arrived here on Friday evening on a three-day official visit heading a high-level delegation.
Both Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman and PM Imran Khan witnessed the signing of the agreements inked by the relevant ministers from both sides. Both the countries also signed an agreement to set up Supreme Coordination Council to strengthen the bilateral cooperation in multiple fields.
On Saturday, Pakistan PM Khan and his accompanying delegation arrived in Madinah to visit and pray at the Prophet s Holy Mosque. At Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport, he was received by Madinah Governor Prince Faisal Bin Salman and a number of officials.
