KUWAIT CITY, May 11, (KUNA): Government Communication Center head Tariq Al- Mezrim on Monday declared the approval of performing the Eid al-Fitr prayer provided that it will not exceed 15 minutes. Speaking at a video-conference following the Cabinet meeting, Al-Mezrim said that a number of outdoor prayer places and more than 1,500 mosques would be prepared for the Eid prayer, with abiding by health measures.
He noted that the Cabinet listened to a presentation of Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Issa Al-Kandari on readiness of the mosques, pointing to coordination between the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in this regard. He pointed out that Kuwait is planning to return to normal life gradually, calling for abidance by health measures and working together to combat the coronavirus to return to normal life as soon as possible. Taraweeh prayer returns to mosques in Arab nations

Six Arab countries will allow mosques to hold Taraweeh prayers during the holy month of Ramazan, while three will continue to ban the special night prayers because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait, Iraq, Egypt, and Algeria, announced that they have allowed the five daily prayers at mosques, Friday sermons and Taraweeh during the holy month of fasting.
Taraweeh will be subject to precautionary measures, including a time limit, keeping social distancing and wearing masks.

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 30: Chairperson of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Ahmad Al-Jassar sent an official letter to interim Minister of Social Affairs, Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Issa Al-Kandari in response to the letter of the Social Affairs Ministry which includes information about the employees entitled to the incentive for workers on the frontline of the fight against coronavirus in accordance with the mechanism implemented by the Council of Ministers, reports Al-Jarida daily.
The daily obtained a copy of Al-Jassar’s letter stating that some employees in the list of the ministry were included in the second category of those eligible for the incentive. He reiterated that as per the decision of the Council of Ministers, the second category includes workers on the frontline of the fight against coronavirus who are assigned at the borders or quarantine centers and that the beneficiaries are determined by the CSC.
