This pair of spring 2020-born Charolais heifers weighed an average of 378kg and sold for €920 (€2.43/kg).
Iveragh Mart hosted its bimonthly sale on Tuesday attracting an entry of nearly 130 cattle. Young stock were most in demand, with buyers eager clearance rate hit 98%.
Topping trade on the day was an August born Charolais bull that weighed 195kg and sold for €600 (€3.08/kg).
Just behind, this a May 2019-born Shorthorn heifer weighed 250kg and sold for €700 (€2.80/kg). Top of the weanling heifers was a Limousin, which sold for €2.68/kg.
The sale attracted a big entry of older dry continental cows which sold up to €1.88/kg.
This seven-year-old Charolais cow weighed 720kg and sold for €1,350 (€1.88/kg)

Iveragh Mart in Cahirciveen Co Kerry held its very first online sales on Tuesday via the MartBids bidding platform.
In doing so it becomes the 16th livestock mart using the MartBids platform. While Tuesday’s sale was quite small, there was a good trade for quality suckler-bred types. A full report from the sale will be available in this week’s
