Oli was appointed as prime minister by the president in his capacity as leader of the largest political party in Nepal s House of Representatives.

China s President Xi announces 1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine for Nepal

May 27, 2021, 11:23 AM IST Kathamndu: Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday announced to provide 1 million doses of vaccines to Nepal to help in preventing the further spread of the coronavirus. Xi announced the donation during the telephone conversation with Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Wednesday.  “During today s phone conversation with Nepali President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced that China will provide 1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to Nepal under grant assistance,” Ambassador of the People s Republic of China to Nepal said in a tweet.  According to the Nepal Foreign Ministry, the two leaders discussed and exchanged their views on overall bilateral relations including COVID-19 related cooperation.

China extends Covid aid to Nepal including a million doses of vaccines

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday announced that the country would provide a million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to Nepal to prevent the further spread of coronavirus. Jinping announced the assistance during a telephone conversation with Nepal's President Bidya Devi Bhandari held earlier on Wednesday. 

Nepal requests the US to send Covid-19 vaccines

Onlinekhabar May 24, 2021 Kathmandu, May 24 Once again, the government of Nepal has requested the United States government to support the country’s Covid-19 response, by providing vaccines for prevention. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Foreign Affairs Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali on Monday held a telephone conversation with Wendy Sherman, the Deputy Secretary of State of the United States of America, and requested her to accord due priority to Nepal during the distribution of surplus vaccines among the developing nations. In response, Sherman assured that the US government would continue to extend cooperation in Nepal’s socioeconomic sector, including the recent fight against the pandemic, the ministry says. Appreciating the friendship the two countries have enjoyed over the decades, she hoped that key projects in the pipeline under US cooperation would open up further avenues of prosperity for Nepal.
