It had only been a few months since Andy Cummings had received a heart transplant for which he had been waiting. Then he got COVID-19 and passed away. The urn holding Andyâs ashes had just arrived on this day. Andyâs widow, Lori Cummings, and four grandsons, Justice, 16, Charlie, 6, Noah, 10, and Ayden, 13 (left to right) are brokenhearted. DENVER â As Coloradans celebrate Christmas, many health care workers are working through the holiday on the front lines against COVID-19. Hamill is one of hundreds of health care workers across the state working overtime and behind the scenes to get the coronavirus pandemic under control. To date, UCHealth has performed more than 420,000 COVID-19 tests under the leadership of laboratory scientists.
