Vaccination drive on full swing after J-K receives stock

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], May 25 (ANI): With Jammu and Kashmir receiving fresh stock of Covid vaccines, the large-scale vaccination drive in the union territory resumed in full swing.
The fresh consignment of vaccine was procured by the Directorate of Health Services and Government Medical College, Srinagar, after facing an acute shortage.
People flocked to vaccination centres in large numbers to get their jabs after Srinagar witnessed a massive surge in Covid cases during the second wave.
According to Dr Bisma, a resident medical officer at G B Pant Hospital, there was a significant increase in people who want to get vaccinated ever since Srinagar was declared as a red zone due to a spike in Covid-19 cases.
Centre reviews progress of vaccination in states

New Delhi [India], May 25 (ANI): The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Tuesday held a review meeting through video conferencing with administrators from States and Union Territories (UTs) on the progress of COVID-19 vaccination and modifications on the CoWIN software that will provide more flexibility to vaccine administrators.
In the meeting chaired by Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, a detailed presentation was done on the progress of the countrywide vaccination drive, with focus on states or UTs that are lagging behind in providing coverage to the vulnerable population groups. The scope to substantially speed up vaccination in this category was stressed, an official statement said.

He isn t authorised to speak on these issues only the official spokesperson of the company is allowed to speak, SII CEO Adar Poonawalla told ANI.
Speaking at an online health summit, Jadhav had on Friday said that the government did not take into account the available stock of vaccines and ignored World Health Organisation s guidelines while rolling out inoculation phases.

SBI Q4 profit jumps 80 pc to Rs 6,451 crore

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 21 (ANI): Government-owned State Bank of India (SBI) on Friday reported a standalone net profit of Rs 6,451 crore for January to March quarter (Q4 FY21) due to lower provision for bad loans.
The profit was over 80 per cent higher than Rs 3,581 crore in Q4 FY20. It was also supported by 19 per cent jump in net interest income the difference between interest earned and interest expended at Rs 27,067 crore in the quarter ended March.
Provisions and contingencies were at Rs 11,051 crore in the January to March quarter, down 18 per cent year-on-year.
