Popular yoghurt brand Danone forced to recall two products due to risk of metal pieces

A POPULAR yoghurt brand has recalled two products after the presence of metal pieces were discovered.
Both Danone Activia Vanilla and Danoe Light and Free Peach Passion Fruit Greek Style Yogurt are affected.

The yoghurt brand has assured the recall only relates to an isolated batch.
Danone said: We are recalling these isolated batches as a precaution because there is a risk that some packs may contain pieces of metal.
We are sorry that this has happened. Nothing is more important to us than the quality and safety of our products.

TWO FOOD BUSINESSES were shut down in February by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) over issues such as rodent droppings and cross contamination from raw chicken.
Businesses served with food closure orders were:
Soma (Restaurant/Café), 23 Tuckey Street, Cork
Twisted Dough Wicklow (Service Sector), Food stall trading at The Crescent Boyle, Roscommon
Two prohibition orders were served to:
