UPDATE: Further cancelations at South Tipperary General Hospital following cyberattack

The Hospital’s management says the following services will be cancelled for the coming week: All routine x-rays , MRI, Phlebotomy ,and Pre-Operative Assessments, All elective surgery and endoscopy treatments. The hospital has also had to cancel all outpatient clinic appointments, with the exception of antenatal clinics, physiotherapy outpatient and cardiac diagnostic. However, expectant mothers with previously scheduled appointments should attend as normal. TAGS

By Hayley Halpin Tuesday 11 May 2021, 6:51 PM Tue 6:51 PM 29,930 Views 33 Comments Image: Shutterstock Image: Shutterstock IRELAND’S HOSPITALS ARE more overcrowded than at any point over the last year, the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) has warned.  The INMO said 376 admitted patients went without beds across Ireland this morning, the highest figure since 5 March 2020.  The worst-hit hospitals include:  South Tipperary General Hospital – 23 The union warned that redeployment of staff was seeing day services closed or scaled back, which it claims is putting extra pressure on emergency departments.

Tipperary Mid West Radio Clonmel Town (Image: tripadvisor.ie) The HSE’s Vaccination Centre in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary is now ready for operation as part of the roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccine. Vaccination centres, such as the one located at the Clonmel park Hotel, are in addition to locations such as GP surgeries and pharmacies where vaccines will be delivered. The vaccination centres will come on stream, as needed, from late March/early April, as vaccine supplies become available. The facilities will be avail;able to the HSE for a minimum of 6 months. The Abbey Court Hotel in Nenagh, has also been completed and is ready for use. South Tipperary General Hospital will operate the Clonmel centre.
