Nebraska woman injured after I-135 accident

The Salina Journal A Nebraska woman was injured after an accident on Interstate 135 south of Salina Thursday night. The Saline County Sheriff s Office said the accident happened around 11:25 p.m. Thursday in the southbound lane of I-135 near mile post 82. A red 2012 Chevrolet Sonic was struck from behind by a blue 2008 Chevrolet Suburban. The Suburban then went into the ditch. The sheriff s office said the driver of the Suburban, a 29-year-old from Hooper, Nebraska, believes he fell asleep. His front-seat-passenger, a 27-year-old woman also from Hooper, was not wearing a seatbelt, injured her hand and was transported to Salina Regional Health Center by EMS. There were six children ranging in ages from infant to 9 years old, also in the Suburban, but none of the children where injured.

(KFVS) - A body found along Route 13 in Saline County has been identified. According to Illinois State Police, the man was identified as Doyle Winston III, 42, of Harrisburg. They said an autopsy was performed on May 14 and the manner of death was determined to be homicide. Winston was reported missing earlier in May. According to Harrisburg police, close friends reported last communicating with Winston in the early morning hours of May 8.

Durham Salina hosts May the Fourth supply drive and touch-a-truck event

The force was strong on Tuesday as Durham School Services celebrated May 4 - known as Star Wars Day - with an event to gather supplies for summer school. During the May the Fourth be With You event at Tony s Pizza Events Center, the service asked the community to stuff the bus with school supplies. Kevin Kuder, the general manager of Durham in Salina, said he wanted the company to serve the community beyond just driving buses for the school district. We were going to do a community event with a need we saw, a stuff-the-bus for school supplies, Kuder said. I wanted to have more hype to it so I reached out to the sheriff s office.

Salina man taken to hospital after crash

The Salina Journal A crash east of Salina sent one man to the hospital Wednesday afternoon. The Saline County Sheriff s Office said the crash happened just after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Simpson and Country Club Roads. The office said a black 2017 GMC Sierra truck, driven by Keith Cole, 32, of Salina, was traveling southbound on Simpson when it went through the stop sign and struck the passenger side of a 2008 Toyota Tundra. The Tundra then continued into a ditch and struck a tree. The sheriff s office said the driver of the Tundra, a 36-year-old from Salina, had neck and back pain and was transported to Salina Regional Health Center.
