University of Maine Cooperative Extension 4-H will launch a new club for youth in grades 3–5 about the science of sustainable fisheries that will meet online weekly, Monday, Feb. 22 - April 12, from 3 - 4 p.m.
The 4-H Sustainable Fisheries Club will include learning about popular fish species in Maine, where they are found, fish DNA and hands-on science exploration. Internet access is required to participate. The club is hosted in partnership with Maine EPSCoR and the Maine-eDNA project.
There is no cost to enroll; all materials will be provided. Register on the UMaine Extension 4-H club webpage by Feb. 15. Enrollment is limited to 12 members.
