Southern Trust healthcare team uses technology to get care homes connected | Latest Newry News, Newry Sport and Newry Business for Newry City

The EU-funded mPower team based within the Southern Heath and Social Care Trust is currently providing most of the Care Homes within the Trust’s region with a pre-loaded digital device allowing residents to stay connected to family, to clinicians and to the outdoors.     mPower uses digital interventions to enable older people in remote areas to live safely and independently in their own homes by introducing them to various health and wellbeing technologies. Aidan McCabe, mPower Implementation Lead, has been working as part of the EU INTERREG VA-funded project, mPower, since March 2019.     Aidan leads the team which is helping older people and those who have long-term health conditions and chronic illnesses to create wellbeing plans, in a bid to improve their day to day lives.

Once they have gained entry they will distract the customer and try to steal valuables lying around the home.    At this time of year, Christmas presents may be easily visible and are an attraction to thieves.

The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs has published two guides to help people and businesses navigate the new procedures to follow when moving animals, plants, food and feed from Great Britain to Northern Ireland, after the UK leaves the EU on the 1 January 2021.     The Guidance for Authorised Traders (during the three month grace period) and the Compliance Protocol set out the new processes for retail goods.     They also highlight the flexibilities agreed between the UK government and the EU that will enable goods and products to move as seamlessly as possible through Northern Ireland’s Points of Entry, avoiding any unnecessary delay.
