22,873 prisoners released on bail in 13 working days Star Digital Report Star Digital Report A total of 22,873 under-trial prisoners, including 289 children, have secured bail from virtual courts across the country in the last 13 working days. Supreme Court Spokesman Md Saifur Rahman in a statement today said the subordinate courts have disposed a total of 2,944 bail petitions in connection with different criminal cases through virtual hearings and granted bail to 1,412 under trial prisoners yesterday. With yesterday s bail orders, 22,873 people, including 289 accused children, secured bail from subordinate courts across the country in the last 13 working days, he said, adding that a total of 41,920 bail petitions of the accused were disposed during this period.
