28% increase in outlay for SC, OBC welfare plans

The overall budget for ministry of social justice and empowerment has gone up from ₹8,207.56 crore to ₹10,517.62 crore – a 28% increase. The Allocation for Welfare of Scheduled Castes (AWSC) for all ministries has been increased by 51.65%.

New Delhi: Hidden in the fine print of budget 2021-22 is the Centre’s massive outreach to Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, denotified tribes and nomadic tribes.
The overall budget for ministry of social justice and empowerment has gone up from ₹8,207.56 crore to ₹10,517.62 crore – a 28% increase.
