File photo A High Wycombe man has been convicted after being arrested in a police drugs raid in Chalfont St Peter. Zain Abedin, 26, of Rowliff Road, was found at the property and detained, with cocaine, cannabis, cash and other items found at the address. He was arrested on Tuesday (May 4) after police swooped down on the property, and charged on Wednesday. Abedin pleaded guilty to one count each of possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession with intent to supply cannabis, and acquiring/using or possessing criminal property in a hearing at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday. He has been remanded in custody to appear at Aylesbury Crown Court for sentencing on a date to be confirmed.

Force pays tribute to murdered former Watford officer

Hertfordshire Constabulary has paid tribute to Clive Porter A police force has said its former officer who was murdered will be remembered as an “inspiration” in an emotional tribute. Clive Porter, 63, from Tring, served as an officer in the Meriden and Garston area in the 80s during his near 30-year career with Hertfordshire Constabulary. He was found with serious injuries on a towpath near the Grand Union Canal in Aylesbury on April 26 and died at the scene despite the efforts of emergency services. Chief Constable Charlie Hall, from Hertfordshire Constabulary, said Mr Porter was a “hugely respected and well-liked member of the team” and was known for his “calm nature and devotion to his family”.

Daniel Wisniewski, 34, is accused of attacking Clive Porter on the Grand Union Canal towpath, near Broughton, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, a week ago. The 63-year-old Canal and River Trust employee had previously served with Hertfordshire Police. Mr Wisniewski, of no fixed abode, is due to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates Court later. The Canal and River Trust confirmed Mr Porter, from Tring in Hertfordshire, was a member of its team and was on duty at the time.
