Ashcamp, KY. (July 21, 2021) – The Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post received a call regarding a robbery in Pike County on Monday, July 19, 2021. KSP investigators responded to Sycamore Road and discovered one man had been shot. The initial investigation indicated multiple individuals were attempting to remove property from a residence on Sycamore Road. During the robbery, victim Bill Thomas, suffered a gunshot wound. One of the individuals involved fired several shots in the direction of Bill Thomas, endangered the lives of other occupants of the residence including a 7-month-old juvenile. As a result of this investigation, Billy Adkins was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center. Adkins is currently charged with one count of Robbery 1

Kentucky State Police investigating fatal shooting

Kentucky State Police are investigating a shooting in Pike County April 13 which left a man dead. According to a statement from KSP, the agency received a 911 call regarding a shooting. Troopers, the statement said, responded to a residence on Mossy Bottom Lane, where they discovered Bobby McCown had been shot. The initial investigation, the statement said, indicated McCown and Victoria Ray were involved in an altercation. During the incident, the statement said, Ray discharged a firearm, striking McCown. McCown, according to the statement, was transported to Pikeville Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. Det. Ryan Hamilton is leading the investigation in the case. He was assisted at the scene by KSP personnel, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office and Lifeguard Ambulance Service.

San Saba teen flown by helicopter to hospital after hit-and-run crash

Driver arrested after witnesses follow suspect vehicle into Brownwood Brownwood Bulletin A15-year-old San Saba girl was flown by helicopter to a hospital Monday after the pickup she was riding in was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash at the Heartland Mall entrance on U.S. Highway 183. Police arrested a Brownwood woman on a charge of accident with serious bodily injury after witnesses provided a license plate number and followed the vehicle to the OYO motel in Brownwood, Early Police Chief David Mercer said. The injured girl was riding in a pickup driven by her father. Mercer identified the woman who was arrested as Abigayle Lynn Ryan, 21.
