Christmas message from Premier Scott Moe

We have to do this to control the spread of the virus to protect one another. I know it’s disappointing. We all want to get together with family and friends during the holidays. But we’re doing this for one Christmas only.   Very soon, we will begin a vaccination program in Saskatchewan. It will be rolled out across the province in the months to come. It’s going to take a while to get everyone vaccinated. So we need to continue to take precautions - wear your mask, wash your hands frequently and practice social distancing.   But believe me when I say this: better days are ahead in Saskatchewan. Life will return to normal and in a year’s time, we will come together again, to enjoy the holidays the way we should the way we always have.

Starting in January, The Capital Region BOCES Adult Health Careers Center is offering three courses for adults: A part-time nursing class that prepares students for a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), as well as programs that prepare students for careers as sterile processing technicians and personal care aide/home health aide/adult nurse assistants/direct support professionals. - Advertisement -

COVID-19 vaccine skeptics are focus of massive education, outreach

Rockland County spokesman John Lyon said county officials hope people take the vaccine when it s offered. We re hopeful seeing people receiving the vaccination will help convince anyone who is hesitant, Lyon said. People who are on the very front lines since this began are lining up to get vaccinated. They know how dangerous this disease is and they are willing to get vaccinated to protect themselves, their families and their patients. However, some workers in those front-line professions have voiced concerns, and some of their organizations say they may struggle to even inoculate half of their staff. Melissa Whitaker, a licensed practical nurse from Poughkeepsie, is one who needs convincing.
