COLUMBUS, Ohio (TNS) â The COVID-19 pandemic sparked a slew of mental health issues when it started more than a year ago, and as the virus recedes itâs likely to do so again.
Although a full return to pre-pandemic life may be months or even a year away, Dr. Tanya Middleton is already hearing from clients about the stresses and anxieties of returning to normal. Middleton, a clinical assistant professor at Ohio State University, is also a licensed counselor and runs a private practice in the Cleveland area.
âThereâs still that fear of: âAre we doing this too soon?â â Middleton said of returning to normal life. âThereâs understandably a lot of anxiety wrapped up in that.â

Hospital makes move amid rising COVID-19 cases in area

DANSVILLE Due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Livingston County and the surrounding area, UR Medicine | Noyes Health suspended inpatient visitation effective Dec. 31 until further notice.
The hospital will make these exceptions:
Pediatric patients: 1 designated caregiver
Obstetrics: 1 designated support person to remain with the patient throughout labor and postpartum
Patients with cognitive and/or communication issues: 1 designated support person
Compassionate care (including end of life/hospice situations): staff will work with families to address individual needs.
