Mangaluru-Bengaluru traffic hit for hours after LPG tanker topples on Shiradi Ghat

Mangaluru, Feb 5: Traffic on Shiradi Ghat on NH 75 was affected for more than three hours after an LPG-laden tanker which was bound for Bengaluru from Mangaluru toppled near the second curve of the Shiradi Ghat on NH 75, on Friday.
The tanker had toppled at 10 am, according to DK SP B M Laxmi Prasad. Owing to the leakage, the traffic was suspended on the stretch at Gundya.
Following the mishap, the traffic was diverted via Sampaje-Madikeri and Belthangady-Charmadi road. However, the movement of vehicles on the stretch was restored at 2 pm.

New Delhi [India], January 28 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed a plea of BJP Member of Legislative Council (MLC), AH Vishwanath challenging Karnataka High Court order on disqualifying him from being appointed as a minister.
A Bench headed by Chief Justice of India, SA Bobde dismissed the plea of Vishwanath.
Former Karnataka minister and BJP MLC Vishwanath, whose chances of becoming a minister were dashed after the Karnataka High Court held that his disqualification as MLA subsists as he is a nominated MLC and not an elected one, approached the top court against the order.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered NDTV s Prannoy Roy to file a statement of shares, indicating their current market value, by Friday as security in lieu of the deposit ordered by the Securities Appellate Tribunal.
