UTICA, N.Y. – The final steel beam was placed atop the framework of the new downtown Utica hospital Tuesday, during a ‘topping off’ ceremony at the site.
Members of Mohawk Valley Health System and Gilbane Building Company attended in celebration of the hospital milestone.
The health care industry has been overwhelmed throughout the coronavirus pandemic, and MVHS president Darlene Stromstad says it has highlighted the need for a new hospital in the region.
