EU-funded Strength2Food launches 1st ever Food Quality Schemes (FQS) sustainability Strategic Guide 26 April 2021
Brussels, 26 April – The EU-funded project Strength2Food launched today the first Strategic Guide on Sustainable Food Quality Schemes(FQS), as a result of a 5-year research at European level. Presented on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day, the tool will allow practitioners, policymakers and researchers to explore the links between sustainability and FQS. It also aims to increase consumers’ awareness of the relationships between FQS, public goods and sustainability, and boost their willingness to pay for services embedded in FQS products.

KUALA LUMPUR – Every business is sparked by an idea, and the reality is that the millions of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) operating around the world always start their day with new business ideas and bringing them to the marketplace.
And so, World Intellectual Property Day is observed for us to learn more about how these ideas can be converted into intellectual property (IP), in addition to understanding the important role that IP plays in driving innovation and the creativity of a business.

The Registry of Companies and Intellectual Property through the Attorney General’s Chambers joins in celebrating World Intellectual Property Day today, 26 th April 2021. This annual event aims to create and increase awareness of the role of Intellectual property rights in encouraging innovation and creativity. This year, World Intellectual Property day is celebrated under the theme: “IP & SMEs: Taking your ideas to market”. The theme seeks to highlight the key role of Intellectual Property rights in helping SMEs build stronger, more competitive businesses.

Bharathidasan University brings out handbook on IPR

Bharathidasan University has published a handbook on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for the benefit of students who had taken up value-added course on the topic.
Vice-Chancellor M. Selvam released the handbook on Monday at a virtual function, coinciding with the World Intellectual Property Day celebration, in the presence of the Registrar Gopinath Ganapathy and IPR Cell Coordinator M. Sundararaman.
The handbook will pave way for creating an IPR ecosystem in the campus, U. Alibava, in-charge - Publication Division, said.
The IPR Cell offers training programmes, conducting value-added course and providing patent-filing support to researchers in the university, Prof. Sundararaman said while highlighting its role in securing NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council), NIRF (National Institute Ranking Framework) Ranking and ARIIA (Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievemen

Activities will be held under the theme: Intellectual property and SMEs: Taking your ideas to the market to encourage the use of intellectual property (IP) by SMEs, and foster innovation with a view to generating revenue and contributing to economic development.
The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) observes World IP Day annually on 26 April to raise awareness of the role that IP rights play in encouraging innovation and creativity. South Africa is one of WIPO s 193 member states.
