Gurgaon: Most private hospitals in the city treating Covid patients are facing a shortage of medical oxygen. Supply has been affected because a major supplier in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, failed to deliver the required stocks. The district administration has, however, said Haryana has surplus oxygen and is supplying it to UP and Delhi.
Of the 43 facilities in the city treating Covid patients currently, 14 are big hospitals while 29 are small ones. The bigger hospitals, which have 100 beds or more, have their own liquid oxygen supply and back-up storage, but the smaller ones that have about 50-60 oxygen cylinders are feeling the pinch.
