Kielce : April 23 (IANS) Indian boxer Sachin produced a remarkable performance to clinch gold as the Indian contingent concluded its campaign with an unprecedented 11 medals, including eight gold, at the 2021 AIBA Youth Men s and Women s World Boxing Championships on Friday.
With Sachin s gold, the 20-member contingent finished the 2021 edition with a historic eight gold and three bronze medals to emerge as one of the top boxing countries in the event.
The previous best outing for India was in 2018 when they won 10 medals.

In what can only be described as an extremely proud moment for the country, seven young India finalists created history at the 2021 AIBA Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships by winning every bout and striking gold!
The Championships, held on Kielce, Poland saw Gitika (48kg) Naorem Babyrojisana Chanu (51kg), Poonam (57kg), Vinka (60kg), Arundhati Choudhary (69kg), T Sanamacha Chanu (75kg) and Alfiya Pathan (+81kg) register victories in their respective finale.

At the outset, it was Gitika who put India on the winning track in the women’s 48k final. She was pitted against the favourite boxer from the home team, Natalia Kuczewska. Gitika beat her 5-0.
(APR 23) The 10 female finals of the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships were in the official schedule on the ninth day of the competition in Kielce, Poland. The Indian girls exceeded all of the previous expectations in the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships and their team achieved seven gold medals. Uzbekistan, Russia, and Turkey won the remaining gold medals in the Womens Final Event.
