AIBA European Forum: the continent is ready for reforms and coming major Championships 02/27/21
ASOIF President Mr. Francesco Ricci Bitti became the guest of the AIBA Forum for Europe held on February 27th, where more than 40 countries participated virtually.
He made his presentation about governance in sport and claimed that it is crucial for AIBA to modernize the organization in all aspects. Boxing is one of the most traditional and universal sports in the Olympic Programme. Therefore, it is very important for the Olympic Movement to have a reinstated, well-functioning and recognized International Federation to govern this sport. I urge the AIBA leadership to engage constructively with the IOC Special Monitoring Committee and consider consequent actions, Mr. Ricci Bitti said.

Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) President Francesco Ricci Bitti is to present on governance in sport organisations during the virtual International Boxing Association (AIBA) forum for Europe tomorrow.
Ricci Bitti is set to take part in the third virtual forum scheduled by AIBA this year, with meetings already held for Africa and the Americas.
The 78-year-old, honorary life President of the International Tennis Federation, was re-elected for a third and final four-year term as ASOIF President in November.
AIBA President Umar Kremlev has previously claimed the forums are to hear and solve tough questions, as well as to maintain a constant dialogue with National Federations.

Serbian actor Miloš Biković has been announced as the first ambassador of this year s International Boxing Association (AIBA) Men’s World Championships in Belgrade.
His appointment was announced during a meeting between AIBA President Umar Kremlev and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
Serbia s capital Belgrade is set to host the World Championships in November, with exact dates for the event yet to be confirmed. This year Serbia will host the AIBA Men’s World Boxing Championships, this is an incredibly important event for our country and the whole world, Biković said.
