TO mark World Hand Hygiene Day, Sunway City Kuala Lumpur Hotels is improving health and sanitation for at-risk communities in Malaysia amid the ongoing global pandemic.
“Soapful” is a corporate social responsibility project (CSR) that repurposes leftover soap from Sunway City Kuala Lumpur Hotels for use by the less fortunate.
In partnership with Malaysian Care, a local non-profit organisation, 100kg of soap was collected from Sunway Resort, Sunway Pyramid Hotel and Sunway Clio Hotel, and repurposed into 1,000 bars of soap for use by inmates at Sungai Buloh Prison.

COVID-19: 30 cases reported on May 11 afternoon
Vietnam documented 30 cases of COVID-19 during the past six hours to 6pm on May 11, with three imported cases and 27 cases among people being quarantined, according to the Health Ministry.
No new clusters were detected in the period.
The national count rose to 3,537, including 528 reported since April 27.
The number of recovered patients reached 2,618. Among active patients, 25 have tested negative for the coronavirus once, 17 twice and 25 thrice.
A total 67,877 people are being quarantined nationwide, with 1,018 in hospitals, 27,641 in designated facilities and 39,218 in their places of residence./.

Nigeria Commemorates World Hand Hygiene Day
Globally, promotion of hand hygiene is one of the cost effective public health interventions for the prevention and control of infections, particularly those caused by epidemic-prone pathogens. In line with this, the World Health Organisation launched the World Hand Hygiene Day which is celebrated every year. This event is part of the global advocacy efforts to mobilise citizens around the world to imbibe a general culture of handwashing with soap and running water, and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitisers.
The theme for this year’s event is “Achieving hand hygiene at the point of care” with the slogan “Seconds Save Lives – Clean Your Hands. In recognition of the importance of public awareness of hand hygiene, Nigeria joined the global community to commemorate the World Hand Hygiene Day on the 5thof May, 2021. The national sub-theme “One Nati
