Countdown to Beijing 2022 | Newly-established Norway Nordic Combined team eyes to shine at Beijing 2022 Yao Youming

Norway has formed Nordic Combined elite national teams, aiming to perform at the top level at Beijing 2022.
BEIJING, May 6 (Xinhua) According to the International Ski Federation (FIS) website, the Norwegian Ski Association has selected eight athletes for the elite national teams in the combined season 2021-2022.
For the men s team, which has five elite athletes, the Beijing Winter Olympics will be the main goal next season. The list of requirements to get into the elite teams Nordic Combined has never been more high-level. Common to all selected is that they came home from the FS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf with medals, said the Norwegian Ski Association sports director Ivar Stuan.

The International Ski Federation has confirmed it has had four applications to host the Championships in six years’ time.
No other candidates can enter the race as bids closed on 1
st May.
FIS has also had just one application for the 2027 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, from Falun in Sweden and one for the 2026 FIS Ski Flying World Championship submitted by Oberstdorf, Germany.
“FIS is very pleased with the diversity and quality of the Candidates to host our flagship events in 2026 and 2027,” said FIS President, Gian Franco Kasper.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Narvik or Soldeu.

Milan Bergamo Airport, under the management of SACBO, has adopted additional equipment and updated procedures with regards to health safety protocols aimed at combating COVID-19 in light of the gradual recovery of passenger flow.
At entrance door 4 of Milan Bergamo Airport, the only entrance to the terminal, a sanitisation cabin has been installed, developed by the Bergamo-based company WMEM as part of the “Be Safe” project in collaboration with other companies in the area. It is a personal sanitisation device that has already seen application during the 2021 Alpine World Ski Championships in Cortina and has been studied to reduce the surface bacterial and viral load of people and personal items (clothes, bags, luggage, shoes, glasses) that come into contact with the sanitisation mist.
Paralympic and Olympic veterans lead new generation of Canadian Nordic athletes on world stage
CANMORE, Alta. Canada’s cross-country ski athletes are charging into the highly-anticipated Paralympic and Olympic year replete with a mix of veteran leadership and podium potential along with youthful energy and drive.
Nordiq Canada officially kicked off the critical 2022 season by naming a determined line up of 26 athletes who will lead the Canadian charge to qualify for Beijing while donning the maple leaf at international competitions next winter.
“We have assembled a unique group of athletes led by a talented group of medal performers on the Para-Nordic stage, along with an inspired group of senior and next generation athletes in our Olympic pathway who are all continuing to climb up the international standings and are determined to see the Canadian flag raised about the international podium,” said Kate Boyd, high-performance director, Nordiq Canada.
