Women in IT sector see improved gender inequality levels over past 2 years: Report

As per the report, 56 per cent of female respondents globally agreed that gender equality has improved in their organisation over the past two years. In the Asia Pacific region, the number was 62 per cent. Furthermore, 70 per cent of women in APAC also said that their skills and experience were considered to be more important than their gender during the interview process for their first IT or tech role.

This progression in such a short space of time represents a positive step towards sector inclusivity. But the findings from Kaspersky’s new Women in Tech report, Where are we now? Understanding the evolution of women in technology, also highlights that there is still room for improvement. The idea of gender equality represents more than just physical bodies through doors. It is also the notion of perceptions, feelings, stereotypes and opportunity.
