JV agrees with Jinggoy: There should be only one Estrada running for Senate in Eleksyon 2022

During the 2019 midterm elections, Estrada and then-reelectionist Ejercito ran for Senate but lost. Estrada landed on the 15th spot with over 11 million votes, while Ejercito was on 13th spot with over 14 million votes. Moreover, Ejercito admitted that the “rift has gotten so deep” between him and Jinggoy after the 2019 polls, and that he is “hoping for a miracle” to mend things with his half-brother. Ejercito also said running for a local post in their bailiwick in San Juan City is not an option for him in 2022 as he believes that he had served the local government already during his term as mayor.

Angara bats for free annual medical check-ups for all Filipinos

Published July 2, 2021, 10:39 AM Senator Sonny Angara is seeking passage of a bill that would provide free annual medical check-up for all Filipinos, which is a vital preventive health care service that can help stop any potential critical ailments at an early stage. As one of the authors of Republic Act 11223 or the Universal Health Care Act, Angara noted many Filipinos do not seek medical care in their lifetime and only do so when their health conditions are at a serious or ciritical stage due to their inability to pay for these services. “Undergoing annual medical check-ups are considered as essential especially at this time when we are facing pandemic that has already resulted in the deaths of over 20,000 individuals and the infection of close to 1.4 million in our country,” Angara said in pushing Senate Bill No. 2297 or the proposed Free Annual Medical Check-Up Act of 2021.
