Media release: The White Label Auction raises £34,000 for The BRIT Trust music charity THE White Label Auction in Aid of The BRIT Trust held this week on 5th May raised a net total of £33,920.40 for The BRIT Trust – the music industry charity that supports a wide range of causes that promote education and wellbeing through music, such as The BRIT School and Nordoff Robbins music therapy among many others. Each of the 115 lots of various ‘white label’ LP test pressings, many of them signed or personalised by the artists in some way, typically went for hundreds of pounds, with seven lots commanding four-figure sums.

Media release: The White Label Auction, in aid of The BRIT Trust, returns May 5th THE White Label Auction, in aid of The BRIT Trust, returns next Wednesday, May 5th, in the run up to The BRIT Awards on May 11th, with around 100 lots of rare, collectible ‘white-label’ test pressings set to go under the hammer. The auction, first staged in October 2019, will be hosted live onsite/online for UK and international collectors – by the music memorabilia and vinyl records specialists, Omega Auctions – https://www.omegaauctions.co.uk/, from their Newton-Le-Willows (Greater Manchester) base. The explosion in sales of vinyl in recent years has thrown up the interesting by-product of ‘white-label’ test pressings – so called because there is no sleeve/label artwork at this stage – which record labels produce ahead of the full release of a new album.
