ISU, Infront Ink Extension - Federations Focus 04/07/21 (ATR) The International Skating Union (ISU) extends its media rights agreement with Infront for another four seasons. The deal includes coverage in China from the 2020/21 season. ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships 2021 (ISU) The extension runs from 2023/24 until the end of the 2026/27 season and includes media rights across all territories worldwide excluding Canada, Japan, Korea and the United States. The partnership includes the annual ISU World, European and Four Continents Championships in Speed Skating, Short Track Speed Skating and Figure Skating, and World Synchronized Skating Championships. It also covers all ISU World Cup Speed Skating, ISU World Cup Short Track and ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating competitions.

New dates confirmed for SportAccord 2021 as 19th edition now set for November in Ekaterinburg 04/07/21 LAUSANNE, Switzerland – SportAccord has confirmed new dates for the SportAccord World Sport & Business Summit 2021, with sport’s most influential global gathering now set to take place from 7-12 November 2021 in Ekaterinburg, Russia at the IEC Ekaterinburg-Expo. The decision to push back the dates for the World Sport & Business Summit to November was taken by the SportAccord Executive Committee. SportAccord is in close dialogue with its partners in Ekaterinburg, the Sverdlovsk Oblast region, and the Russian Federation. This move will provide greater safety and certainty to attendees in the context of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic but certainly to allow the greatest impact for our hosts.

IMMAF welcome Council of Europe recommendation on martial arts and combat sports Monday, 5 April 2021 International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) chief executive Densign White has welcomed a recommendation from the Council of Europe to member states regarding extreme martial art and combat activities. The recommendation recognised the benefits that practitioners of martial arts and combat activities can enjoy provided these activities are practiced in an appropriate framework. The benefits were cited as including agility, social inclusion, self-confidence, self-control and respect. The Council of Europe noted that there had been major developments in extreme martial arts and combat activities since the early 2000s.

FITEQ membership grows to more than 100 after six nations approved Saturday, 6 March 2021 The International Federation of Teqball (FITEQ) now has over 100 members following the approval of six National Federations. Equatorial Guinea, The Gambia, Norway, Gabon, Togo and Trinidad and Tobago are the latest nations to receive FITEQ recognition. There are now 102 National Federations associated with FITEQ. In April 2020, FITEQ passed the 50-member milestone and has since doubled its affiliations. FITEQ and its National Federations have worked together to improve the resources of affiliate nations while the sport has been on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic. It has delivered regular practical workshops via videoconference and has made official coach, referee and sports administration courses available on its educational platform.
