France s BNP Paribas applies to set up brokerage in China despite CAI uncertainty

The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) on Tuesday accepted France-based BNP Paribas application for the establishment of a securities firm in China, the latest sign of the appeal of China s financial opening for European investors, even as some anti-China forces are casting doubts over an investment deal between China and the EU. BNP Paribas continues to explore all of its options for growth in the China market, where we have had a long-standing presence and developed a fully fledged corporate and institutional banking business, as well as a successful asset management joint venture, the bank said in a statement sent to the Global Times on Tuesday, shortly after news of its brokerage application emerged.

‘Completely unfounded’: Chinese archaeologists refute ‘alien theory’ about Sanxingdui Ruins

Chinese archaeologists once again refuted the alien theory floating around the corners of the internet about the ancient Sanxingdui Ruins in Southwest China s Sichuan Province. They note relics that are similar to those found at the Erlitou Site in Central China s Henan Province show the two cultures communicated with each other, but the idea that this is the work of aliens is completely unfounded.
First discovered in 1929, the Sanxingdui Ruins, which dated back to the Bronze Age 3,000 years ago, have been the source of one pleasant surprise after another following decades of digging and archaeological research. Chinese aviation regulator says no timetable yet

US plane maker Boeing Co said on Tuesday it delivered a total of 77 aircraft in the first quarter, including a large order of 737 MAXs, accounting for more than 80 percent of all deliveries.
The number has pumped up the ambitions for the manufacturer making the narrow body jet return to the skies in countries worldwide after years of being grounded.
Despite the electrical issues in some jets recently exposed by the manufacturer, it is widely expected that Boeing is likely to continue high deliveries for the MAX, and more carriers in the world are clearing the ways for it to be back to the sky, and people wondering how far will the Boeing 737 MAX back to sky in China?

Chinese technology giant Huawei charted a clear path for its development during an industry conference it held on Monday, saying that it will emphasize certain business segments such as software development, the auto sector, and 5G as it continues to seek survival amid uncertainties.
