Castletown revamp concerns need to be listened to, say MHKs
MHKs in Castletown say the concerns of local shopkeepers, and residents, need to be listened to.
It s after plans were submitted to revamp the ancient capital’s shopping areas.
Work could be started on Arbory and Malew streets if the Department of Infrastructure get the go-ahead but the plans haven t found favour with all.

A tip in the north of the island will remain open beyond its original closing date because the government has failed to make progress on its planned new site.
The government wants to create a fully engineered new site for construction waste at Turkeyland in Malew - and it had hoped to also use that site as an interim facility - but no detailed plans have been submitted.
But Infrastructure Minister Tim Baker confirmed in the House of Keys on Friday that Wright’s Pit North in Bride would have to remain open into next year - possibly for a further 18 months.
