Dolly Parton is saying goodbye to her brother,
Randy Parton.
The music legend took to her
Facebook page on Thursday morning to reveal that her younger brother died at just 67 years old after facing cancer.
In the heartfelt statement, the 75-year-old country crooner wrote that Randy is “shining in heaven now,” sharing that the family’s faith has helped them process the tragic loss. She explained:
“My brother Randy has lost his battle with cancer. The family and I are grieving his loss but we know he is in a better place than we are at this time. We are a family of faith and we believe that he is safe with God and that he is joined by members of the family that have gone on before and have welcomed him with joy and open arms.”

Aside from Dolly Parton being a country music legend, the singer has always been the fourth of 12 children to Avie Lee Caroline and Robert Lee Parton, with her father being a sharecropper and construction worker to provide for his massive family in East Tennessee. Randy Parton was a musician much like his superstar sister, playing guitar and bass in Dolly Partonâs band, and even hosting his own show in Dollywood, the singerâs amusement park located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Dolly shared the news with this message:
The 75-year-old musician announced that her sibling has passed away after losing his cancer battle, adding that Randy is now “in a better place than we are”.

She shared a moving tribute on Instagram
The singer added: Randy was a great singer, writer, and entertainer. He sang, played guitar and bass in my band for many years. He headed his own show at Dollywood since it opened in 1986.
