KARACHI: The Sindh government under a “pro-poor economic revival package” has decided to launch a Chief Minister Self-employment Scheme to advance interest-free small loans to the people.
This decision was taken at a cabinet meeting held here on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah at CM House. The meeting was attended by all provincial ministers, advisers, chief secretary and relevant secretaries.
The cabinet on the recommendation of the heritage committee approved a request of the owner of a building, Homie Katrak Chamber, Plot CL-9/22/7, Abdullah Haroon Road-Hoshang Road, for addition and alteration of the heritage building.

KARACHI: PTI lawmaker Haleem Adil Sheikh was booked for attempted murder, interference in government duties, and disruption during an anti-encroachment drive carried out at his Malir farmhouse a day prior, police confirmed Sunday. Karachi police said the first information report (FIR) against Haleem Adil Sheikh the leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly included clauses pertaining to disturbing peace, financial loss to government property, assault on government employees, attempted murder, intimidation, and interference in the government s work.
At least 70 people, including the PTI lawmaker, were named in the case filed at the Memon Goth police station on behalf of Muhammad Ayub, a resident of Karachi s Korangi neighbourhood.

A day after police accepted an application against the chief of the Anti-Encroachment Force for razing of farmhouses and allegedly robbing them in District Malir during an anti-encroachment operation, police on Sunday registered two separate cases against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Vice President and provincial assembly opposition leader Haleem Adil Sheikh and others for attempted murder, interference in government duties, and disruption during the anti-encroachment drive carried out at his relatives’ farmhouses, and blocking the M-9 Motorway.
The first case was registered at the Memon Goth police station under the sections 147, 148, 149, 186, 353, 324, 427, 504 and 506-B that pertain to disturbing peace, causing financial losses to government property, assault on government employees, attempted murder, intimidation, and interference in the government work.
