Santino Ferrucci was transported to a local hospital due to a hard crash with one hour and 46 minutes remaining in the session. He had been battling oversteer in his No. 45 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Honda for several laps when it finally broke loose on him in Turn 2. The car bolted around and backed hard into the wall. Ferrucci was unable to immediately place pressure on his left ankle and needed to be carried to a safety truck.
