INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) Police on Sunday identified a 21-year-old man accused of shooting a man and woman before leading police on a chase, hitting a woman with his SUV and shooting and injuring a police officer.
Keith Allender faces preliminary charges of attempted murder (3 counts), aggravated battery, criminal recklessness and resisting law enforcement.
Detectives with Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department believe Allender shot two of his neighbors in an unprovoked attack Saturday afternoon on Kentstone Drive. A 61-year-old woman was in a car with a toddler when Allender shot her and a 38-year-old man standing outside the car. The child was unharmed, according to police, and the woman was able to drive a short distance away from the scene.

COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) arrested an Indianapolis man Monday evening after he allegedly threw gasoline on a man and then set him on fire. Officers responded to a residence in the 1500 block of Chestnut Street at around 3:45 a.m.
When police arrived, they found an adult male with burns over a large portion of his body. Witnesses supposedly told CPD that a man, later identified as Ralph Shaw, 39, of Indianapolis, was arguing with the injured man and later threw gas on him and set him afire.
After initial treatment at the scene, the victim was flown to IU Health Methodist Hospital by Lifeline helicopter.

The most consequential moments of Thursday practice for the Indianapolis 500 came in the opening minutes and after the halfway mark on the final session before Fast Friday.
Santino Ferrucci was transported to a local hospital due to a hard crash with one hour and 46 minutes remaining in the session. He had been battling oversteer in his No. 45 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Honda for several laps when it finally broke loose on him in Turn 2.
The car bolted around and backed hard into the wall.
Ferrucci was unable to immediately place pressure on his left ankle and needed to be carried to a safety truck.
