WASHINGTON, Feb. 2, 2021 /PRNewswire/ In a victory for the U.S. industry, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) today made an affirmative final determination in the antidumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) investigations on vertical shaft engines (VSEs) with a displacement of between 225cc and 999cc from China. The ITC found that U.S. vertical shaft engine producers have been materially injured by unfairly traded imports of vertical shaft engines from China, paving the way for imposition of AD/CVD orders.

Recent reporting on the human rights crisis in the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region has revealed the United States to be a major consumer in the global marketplace for forced Uighur labor. It is a near certainty that some goods currently being sold in the United States though it is difficult to say which ones were made, wholly or in part, by Uighurs and other Muslim minorities in furtherance of their forced “reeducation” in China.
