US may terminate investigations on carbon steel imports from Russia, Ukraine
In early March, the US Department of Commerce argued that the termination of the suspended investigations could lead to a resumption of dumping with an average margin of up to 185% for Russia and up to 237.91% for Ukraine
WASHINGTON, May 11. /TASS/. The United States authorities may terminate previously suspended investigations on imports of carbon steel plate from Russia and Ukraine. This is according to a statement the US International Trade Commission published in the so-called federal register - a collection of official documents by the US government. The Commission hereby gives notice of the scheduling of expedited reviews pursuant to the Tariff Act of 1930 ( the Act ) to determine whether revocation of the antidumping duty order on cut-to-length carbon steel plate from China and the termination of the suspended investigations on cut-to-length carbon steel plate from Russia and Ukraine would be like

Positive global cues lift sentiment
Indian markets are expected to open higher on Monday, thanks to positive global cues. The SGX Nifty, which currently rules at 15,006 (8 am IST) on the Singapore Stock Exchange, indicates at least 130 points gap-up opening for Nifty futures, which on Friday closed at 14,869.55
Following a strong closing at the US on Friday, Asian markets too are ruling on firm ground on Monday. Benchmarks of Japan, Australia and Korea are up in excess of one per cent. Last week, the US indices such as Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 closed at a record high; even the tech-heavy Nasdaq, which was facing some headwind in recent times, closed with sharp gains on Friday.
The domestic equities indices were trading in a narrow range in afternoon trade. At 13:20 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, rose 328.66 points or 0.67% at 49,535.13. The Nifty 50 index gained 116 points or 0.78% at 14,939.15.
Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) (up 1.48%), ICICI Bank (up 1.33%) and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) (up 3.52%) supported the indices.
The broader indices outperformed the benchmarks. The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index rose 0.83%. The S&P BSE Small-Cap index added 0.96%.
Buyers outpaced sellers. On the BSE, 2,005 shares rose and 997 shares fell. A total of 218 shares were unchanged.
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth Rs 1,142.75 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs), were net buyers to the tune of Rs 1,468.09 crore in the Indian equity market on 7 May 2021, provisional data showed.

New Delhi, May 10 : Swedish telecom company Ericsson and South Korean giant Samsung have ended their legal disputes over patents, signing an agreement to cover all cellular technologies.
The agreement covers network infrastructure and handset sales from the start of 2021, but other financial details were not disclosed, reports ZDNet. We are delighted to sign a mutually beneficial agreement with Samsung. This important deal confirms the value of our patent portfolio and further illustrates Ericsson s commitment to FRAND (fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory) principles, Ericsson chief intellectual property officer Christina Petersson was quoted as saying in the report on Sunday.
