Doses of reality

Affable but feisty and a fan of bespoke suits, the 40-year-old heads the Serum Institute of India, the world s largest maker of vaccines. Before the pandemic, its factories in India annually churned out 1.5 billion doses of vaccines 50% more than the next largest producer to protect against 13 different diseases.

Johnson Demands Answers From Fauci About COVID Origin Flip-Flop

Republican Sen. Ron Johnson sent a letter to Dr. Anthony Fauci on Thursday demanding answers from the director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases over his flip flop concerning the origins of COVID-19. In the letter, Johnson notes that just a few months into the pandemic, Fauci “appeared to confidently assert that the virus originated naturally” but has now walked back his claims and called for further investigation. Johnson also points out that Fauci “appeared to be dismissive of the possibility that a laboratory played any part in the origin of the virus” and said he was “very, very strongly leaning toward this [virus] could not have been artificially or deliberately manipulated.”

India Should Collaborate with Other Countries to Ramp Up COVID Vaccine Capability, Says U S Top Medical Adviser Dr Fauci

WASHINGTON – Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Biden administration s top medical adviser, has said that it is imperative for India to collaborate with other countries and companies to ramp up its vaccine production capability to vaccinate the country s huge population against COVID-19. Calling India as one of the best vaccine producers in the world, the leading American infectious disease expert said, It s a very, very large country with a population of about 1.4 billion people, you only have a couple of percentage of the people who are fully vaccinated and over about 10 percent or so that have at least one dose, so you ve got to work out arrangements with other countries, other companies at the same time, as ramping up your own capability of making vaccines, because as we all know, India is one of the best if not the biggest vaccine producers in the world.
