The Federated States of Micronesia resumed using the Johnson & Johnson vaccine after a pause over concerns of possible rare side effects.
The FSM s Department of Health & Social Affairs after careful review with partners such as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention has authorized the resumption of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine across the Pacific nation, the government announced in a news release Monday.
The Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine was temporarily put on hold throughout the FSM while medical experts reviewed a possible correlation between female recipients of the vaccine with low platelets and blood clots.
Caribbean Cruise Port to Welcome Back First Cruise Ship
The Caribbean island nation of St Kitts and Nevis will reopen to cruise tourism from July but not fully until October.

Another cruise port has announced it will open up for cruise tourism from July onwards, but it will remain limited until later in the year.
The islands of St Kitts and Nevis will be working together with ultra-luxury cruise operator Seabourn to open up in July. However, cruises operations won’t be fully able to return to the Caribbean destination until October 2021.
