CANTON TWP. A suspect was arrested Friday by the Stark County Sheriff s Office and U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force in connection with the shooting of a woman in a home in Canton Township.
Tony R. Sheets Jr., 26, is charged with one count of felonious assault and one count of having weapons under disability, according to the Stark County Sheriff s Office.
Deputies were called to a home in the 1100 block of Oak Avenue NW Thursday at 3:48 a.m. in response to a 911 call from a woman who had been shot in the groin area. The woman, who is in her 20s, was shot once. She had been staying at the home, said Maj. C.J. Stantz.
