‘Mr. Richard Rocks’ supplement illegally contained Viagra ingredient, seller admits
Updated 7:13 AM;
A dietary supplement being sold online under the name “Mr. Richard Rocks” illegally contained an ingredient found in Viagra, the company’s owner admitted Tuesday in federal court in New Jersey.
Robert Zeng, 55, of Salt Lake City, Utah, faces up to three years in federal prison after pleading guilty to one count of introducing a misbranded drug into interstate commerce with intent to defraud and mislead consumers, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for New Jersey said in a statement.
Zeng manufactured “Mr. Richard Rocks” at his home and sold it on the Nutopia website and on e-commerce platforms, according to court papers. While Zeng marketed the product as a dietary supplement containing only natural ingredients, he failed to disclose that it contained sildenafil, which is used in the erectile dysfunction pill Viagra, authorities said.
