Holyoke man charged with possession of child pornography

HOLYOKE A city man has been charged with charges of receiving and possessing child pornography.
Federal prosecutors announced Wednesday that they had indicted Alfredo Aldeco, 35, on the two charges. The U.S. Attorney’s Office District of Massachusetts alleges that Aldeco possessed one or more images of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor.
Aldeco appeared in federal court in Springfield on Tuesday. He is currently in federal custody in connection with another case, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a statement.
Aldeco was arrested in 2014 after police alleged he took part in an armed robbery in Holyoke.
A University of Georgia School of Public and International Affairs student was arrested Friday on charges of cyberstalking and extortion.
Gary Leach, a graduate student, was charged with one count of cyberstalking and one count of extortion and appeared in the federal court of the Middle District of Georgia Friday afternoon after he allegedly cyberstalked and extorted a Massachusetts woman for sexually explicit videos, photos and communications for more than a year and a half.
According to a press release from the U.S. Attorneyâs Office, beginning October 2019, Leach acquired the explicit communications from the woman through false promises of payment. Leach also secretly recorded the woman during the calls, according to the release.

BOSTON A Rochester man currently serving a federal prison sentence for sending threatening emails to college-aged women across the country is facing new charges.
Eric Bolduan, 46, of Rochester, was indicted in U.S. District Court in Massachusetts on one count of transmitting in interstate commerce a threat to injure another person. He has not yet appeared in court on those charges. Bolduan is incarcerated at Federal Correctional Institute-Englewood. His expected released date is in November 2029, according to Bureau of Prison records. He will have to register as a sex offender after serving his sentence.
