Man, 22, charged with killing his father at N.J. apartment, authorities say Updated Apr 06, 2021; A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged with stabbing his father to death at a Newark apartment, authorities said Tuesday. Noah Jennings, of Jersey City, faces murder and weapons charges in the slaying of his father, 60-year-old Phillip Jennings, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. Police on Friday found Phillip Jennings stabbed in his second floor apartment on Oration Street in Newark, the prosecutor’s office said. Officers went to the residence to check on Jennings, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Prosecutors did not disclose a possible motive for the killing or detail what led to the charges against the man’s son. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force continued to investigate, authorities said.
