Drug charges against Zachary Dupon were dismissed in Edgartown District Court Friday. The drug charges were unrelated to the collision in Tisbury that led to a motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation charge against Dupon for the death of Emma Hall. The drug charges, two counts of possession of a Class C drug (Xanax and clonazepam), were filed by Oak Bluffs Police in October. Dupon’s attorney, Rachel Self, achieved the dismissal through a successful motion to suppress evidence.
The case stemmed from a stop and search in the center of Oak Bluffs. County officials approved spending up to $50,000 to get a new boiler installed in the Dukes County Courthouse at an emergency meeting Tuesday night of the Dukes County Commission and the County Advisory Board.
The decision comes a day after the Edgartown courthouse was closed for court business because the building’s boiler was found “cracked and leaking” on Saturday, county commission chair Christine Todd told The Times.

A boiler failure has closed the Dukes County Courthouse for at least a week.
The furnace was found “cracked and leaking,” Christine Todd, chair of the Dukes County commissioners, told The Times. Todd said it “cannot be fixed.”
The dead boiler has closed the courthouse “at least until the end of this week,” Todd said.
The building has no running water because “they had to drain all the pipes,” she said.
The county building, which save for the registry of deeds portion, is leased to the commonwealth, houses the Dukes County Superior Court, the Edgartown District Court, and the Dukes County Probate and Family Court.

Hollywood stuntwoman Kim Washington Longino, whose name has appeared as Kym in some records, is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 22 on a charge of driving with a suspended license. Longino was arrested in July on charges of drunken driving and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. She allegedly declined the Breathalyzer, and her license was suspended. She pleaded not guilty to both charges in Edgartown District Court.
On the night of Aug. 25, Tisbury Police Officer Nick Sidoti, whoâd been involved with Longinoâs previous charges, allegedly observed Longino at the wheel of a Jeep when he was on his way into work on a motorcycle.
