Minister, Rep Member bicker over projects in Edo

BENIN CITY – THE Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba and the member representing Etsako Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Johnson Oghuma Tuesday engaged in war of words of projects in Etsako which the two are laying claim.
Oghuma said roads linking five communities of Iviukhua, Iviebua, Iviegbepui, Ivianokpodi and Ivoghe which the minister recently inspected were parts of his constituency projects including Ogbona-Ekperi road in Etsako Central, Okugbe-Imiekuri road in Etsako East through NDDC which he said are on-going.

Representative of Etsako Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Johnson Oghuma, has declared that rural roads in Etsako East Council of Edo State for which Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Clem Agba was claiming credit, were his projects.
Oghuma listed the rural roads as those linking Iviukhua, Iviebua, Iviegbepui, Ivianokpodi and Ivoghe communities.He, however, noted that works are presently ongoing on the Ogbona-Ekperi road in Etsako Central and Okugbe-Imiekuri road in Etsako East through the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Others are the Aviele-Iyakpi rural access road, rehabilitation of Iviakpi-Aviele-Ekhie Girls road, popularly known as Campus Two road in Etsako West.

A member of the House of Representatives, representing the Etsako Federal Constituency of Edo State, Hon Johnson Oghuma, on Monday said that the empowerment of the people remained the only panacea against poverty in the country.
Oghuma, who harped on the need to ensure that the circle of poverty among Nigerians is broken permanently, stressed that capacity building among the constituents and the provision of self-sufficient economic empowerment programmes would eliminate the tensed atmosphere in the country.
The two-time National Assembly lawmaker made the disclosures in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo state, while flagging off an empowerment program he embarked upon in the locality, which will see hundreds of his constituents being empowered with starter packs and other equipment such as 20 mini tractors, distribution of 400 mechanical/weldi
