George A. Russett, 94, formerly of Edwardsville, Larksville and Highland Park, Wilkes-Barre, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, surrounded by his four loving daughters.
Summer school enrollment open for EHS students

District 7 is offering Edwardsville High School students opportunities to extend their learning beyond the school year.
Many students take advantage of summer school courses to free time in their schedules during the regular school year to pursue more of the elective courses available at Edwardsville High School.
Registration for high school summer school begins on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, and closes Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 4:30 p.m.
Summer school information will be available online at www.ecusd7.org/summerschoo/registration
Hard copies can be picked up from Lincoln Middle School, Liberty Middle School, Edwardsville High School or at Hadley House during regular business hours.

Edwardsville, Glen Carbon solidify partnership for TheCENTER

The City of Edwardsville and the Village of Glen Carbon officially are partners in the project to build a proposed ice rink, track, fitness and teen center.
This new development, called TheCENTER, will be located in Edwardsville by Edwardsville High School, off Tiger Drive and Governor’s Parkway.
The two entities already partner on the community pool at SIUE and this agreement is another example of their city-village collaboration.
TheCENTER is the third and final park project to be completed as part of the “A Better Place to Play” Campaign. This community-centered facility is a recreational complex that will offer its residents and surrounding communities a year-round option for skating, exercise and more. It offers one of the only 175-meter special surface tracks in the area and will also offer
