Vice President Leni Robredo
In an interview with GMA News’ “The Mangahas Interviews,” Robredo said it was evident that the administration fell short in addressing the situation.
“Para sa akin parang hindi sila seryoso… Apparent naman yung pagkukulang (For me, I don’t think they are serious. Their shortcomings are very apparent),” she said.
“Yung solution hindi madali pero doable. Pero parang ayaw gawin (The solution to the problem is doable but it appears that they do not want to do it),” she added.
The Vice President cited the government’s seeming lack of resolve to address the issue of illegal drugs and corruption in the Philippines.
Duterte thanked those behind the recent “Run, Sara, Run” social media campaign which saw various platforms inundated with motorcades in different towns across the country. Meanwhile, calendars with the words “Run, Sara, Run for President for 2022” went viral and were said to be circulating in Quezon City.
Speaking to ABS-CBN, Duterte said she understood “where they are coming from. I too am anxious about where we are going as a nation. I am always grateful that I have their trust and confidence.” She urged her supporters to support her run for the presidency in 2034, joking that they would probably forget her by then. Meanwhile, she also warned the public not to spend money on fraudulent fundraising campaigns that claimed to raise money for her alleged candidacy in 2022.

The unanimous decision of the Presidential Electoral Tribunal to junk the election protest against Vice President Leni Robredo should now put to rest any doubts about her election victory.

This was the consensus among a number of congressmen who lauded the Supreme Court justices for resolving complaint filed by former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. who ran against Robredo during the presidential elections.

Andanar made the statement following Jimenez’s passing due to an aortic aneurysm on Friday evening.
In his statement, Andanar expressed his sympathies and condolences to the family and loved ones of the late PACC chairman, noting that Jimenez’s death is a loss to the government’s programs.
“[His] conviction and dedication in fighting criminality and corruption in the country have been outstanding, apparent, and instrumental in the Duterte administration’s management and enforcement of our anti-corruption and anti-illegal drugs campaigns,” he said.
“He will be missed by those in the government and civil society. His death is a loss in our crusade against crime and corruption,” he added.
